Australia oust Pakistan of Olympics
LONDON: Pakistan failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the men’s hockey tournament at the London Olympics after a 7-0 thrashing at the hands of world champions Australia.
Pakistan was dominated from start to finish by Australia. With this loss the green shirts have been eliminated from medal contention.
During the first half Australia scored twice of penalty corners and once from a penalty stroke. Christopher Ciriello also scored a field goal.
Pakistan failed to make adjustments in the second half and continued to be dominated by Australia.
The Kangaroos scored once of a penalty corner and twice from field goals in the second half. With this win Australia has qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament.-- Agencies
