ATC rejects commission report on Mumbai attacks
RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi anti-terrorist court (ATC) Tuesday rejected the report submitted by the investigation commission which visited India to probe Mumbai attacks.
The ATC rejected the report keeping in context the fact that the lawyers commission which visited India was not granted access to witnesses in the case.
The commission did not cross examine the witnesses and consequently the report complied was illegal, the court said.
The court added that the commission’s report could not be made part of records related to those accused in Pakistan and that the activities of the judicial commission were a waste of time.
However, the court directed that a new commission should be formed for the same purpose after coordination with Indian authorities.
