Sharif urges US to pursue policy of mutual respect

ISLAMABAD: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif on Sunday urged the United States to follow a policy of mutual respect and mutual trust with Pakistan.

 

The PML-N chief made these remakrs during a meeting with outgoing US Ambassador Cameroon Munter. Nawaz said only the policy of mutual respect can restore cooperation between Pakistan and US.

 

The meeting was also attended by Dr Marilyn Wyatt, wife of the US Ambassador and Opposition Leader in Senate Ishaq Dar.

 

The PML-N chief  emphasized the need for the US to re-orient its policies towards Pakistan in a manner that the country’s democratic institutions become stronger and its economy made less dependent on foreign aid.

 

The US Ambassador spoke of his admiration for the people of Pakistan adding that he was deeply impressed by the enormous changes taking place which made him confident that the country was headed in the right direction.
