ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman, Ehsanullah Ehsan shouldered the responsibility of the Kamra Airbase attack, claiming that three JF-17 Thunder aircrafts were destroyed while 12 PAF officers were shot dead.

The TTP spokesman while speaking to media outlets and separately with a senior analyst, Saleem Safi, TTP had claimed responsibility for the brazen attack on Kamra airbase. While talking to media, the senior analyst revealed that the TTP spokesman had phoned him from North Waziristan and took the onus for the attack. The spokesman said that the assailants successfully destroyed the intended targets which included three JF-17 Thunder aircrafts. Ehsanuallh, however, regretted that the media was not reporting the damage incurred by PAF officers. He claimed that a total of 12 PAF officers were shot dead by the TTP assailants. 

TTP spokesman also claimed that all of the nine fighters were Pakistanis and meticulously planned for operation months before execution. He warned of further attacks similar in nature in the coming days, the senior analyst added while talking to media. 

When questioned about damaging Pakistani assets which could be utilized in case of attack by India, the TTP Ehsanullah told the analyst that such attacks were part of Ghazwa hind, adding that after crippling Pakistan, the TTP would storm India. 

It is pertinent to mention here that intelligence organizations had submitted a report to the concerned departments indicating the possibility of an attack on the night of 27th Ramadan.
