Legislation is Parliament’s right: Kaira
ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday said there is no confrontation between government and judiciary, saying legislation is the right of parliament.
Addressing a seminar on civil-military relations in Islamabad, the information minister said no government office has the right to intervene in the legislative process.
He said successive martial law regimes have weakened government departments and the country overall.
Kaira further said Pakistan Peoples Party kept its past mistakes in consideration when working on its policy of reconciliation and avoided confrontation between different government institutions.
He said the Contempt of Court law was passed by the parliament, and if the judiciary has any objections, they should be addressed.
