9 FC men injured in Hayatabad explosion


PESHAWAR: At least nine Frontier Corps (FC) personnel including a Major were injured when their convoy was hit by a remote-controlled bomb in Hayatabad Phase-3 Square here on Wednesday. 

According to police sources, the FC vehicle was targeted by a bomb planted near an under construction bridge which detonated when the FC vehicle crossed over. 

Nine FC troops including a Major were injured in the attack. The injured were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad Medical Complex for treatment. 

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) arrived at the crime scene for inspection. 

Security forces cordoned off the Hayatabad-University road and initiated a search operation.
