PESHAWAR: The primary school teachers have rejected the provincial government’s decision to keep arms during school hours, saying that they are not responsible for the security of the school and students.
It was decided during a convention of All Primary Teachers Association of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, which attended by a large number of primary teachers.
President of the association Malik Khalid said that the government was responsible for providing security to the students, teachers and other staff members.
“We are only responsible for educating and teaching the students and not to provide security,” he said.
He said that the teachers community had rejected the government’s new policy in the name of security, adding that that they were ready to attend schools during holidays.
They also decided not to participate in the anti-polio drive, saying that the campaign is the duty of lady health workers and the health department.
