Case lodged against Rangers mobile van attackers
KARACHI: Police registered a case under Section 354/2012 Anti-Terrorism Act against unknown attackers who targeted a Rangers mobile van in wee hours in Qaidabad Industrial Area here on Monday.
According to details, a Rangers mobile vehicle abutting a factory wall in Dadu Chorangi of Qaidabad Industrial Area was destroyed in a bomb blast. Following the planted bomb blast, Rangers personnel Sipahi Qasim, Nawaz, Drive Siddique and Lans Naik Sanaullah and the factory watchman were injured. Hospitals sources said that two of the Rangers personnel were critically injured in the blast.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officers said that around one kilogram of explosives laced with ball bearings to inflict maximum damaged was used. It was a time device, BDS said.
Investigations officers revealed that the blast resembles with similar incidents from last year in which a uni-directional Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was used.
