Door for dialogue open to Lyari residents: Zardari

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari Friday urged the relevant authorities to continue the dialogue process with the residents of Lyari. 

The president was chairing a core committee meeting of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh at Bilawal House here. 

During the meeting Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and some members of the Sindh cabinet and senior Party leaders, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Mr. Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Mr. Rafique Engineer, Mr. Abdul Qadir Patel and Mr. Rashid Hussain Rabbani were present. 

The meeting discussed current political situation, matters relating to coalition, developmental issues and the law and order situation in the province.

The president remarked that “the doors for dialogue with Lyari people should not be closed.”

Speaking to media representatives, PPP leader Rafiq Engineer said that the president directed that issues inflicting the residents of Lyari should be resolve through dialogue. 

During the meeting PPP relations with coalition partners in Sindh were also discussed along with the different development projects underway in the province.
