9 suspects arrested in connection with fatal shooting
KARACHI: Police Sunday arrested nine suspects for their involved in a shooting incident a day before in Sohrab Goth area which killed four people and injured five others.
According to SP Gadap Jan Muhammad, two armed groups clashed with each other over monetary dispute in Jannat Gul town area. The dispute intensified and a firefight erupted as a result of which four people were killed while five others were wounded. The police party which arrived at the scene to get the situation under control also came under fire. Station House Officer (SHO), Sultan Mehsud along with two policemen received gunshot wounds as they tried to get the situation under control.
The police raided different places last night and arrested seven people while two more including Abdul Qadir, a wanted felon along with a cohort was arrested. Police seized weapons and ammunition from the gangsters.
To maintain law and order situation, additional police contingents are patrolling Al-Asif Square, and Super Highway area.
