Prof. Ghafoor passes away . |

KARACHI: Prof. Ghafoor Ahmed the Jamat e Islami's (JI) senior leader Wednesday passed away at the age of 85 after months of ailment in Karachi.
Ghafoor was born on 26 June 1927 in Barely, British India and earned Master’s Degree in Commerce from Lucknow University in 1948.
He joined Jamat-e-Islami in 1950 and become one of its key members.
He also remained senator and member of national assembly (MNA) in his political career.
The JI leader served as General Secretary of two political alliances Pakistan National Alliance (PNA) and Islami Jamhuri Ittehad (IJI).
