LHC asks YDA to submit service structure amendments

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Friday directed the Young Doctors Association to submit their recommendations regarding service structure to the LHC.

The proposals by the YDA would be forwarded to the Punjab government and after hearing their case, the court would eventually give its judgment.

During hearing of the case, Additional Advocate General Punjab, Faisal Zaman contested that meeting the demands put up by the YDA would open up a new Pandora box. He said if YDA service structure demands were met, whosoever falling under the category of a civil servant including engineers, sanitary workers would also demand the same for them.

‘Punjab govt cannot put into place a service structure which is different from the rest of the provinces,’ Faisal said.

YDA Spokesman, Dr Nasir Abbass apprised the court that Punjab govt would have to spend Rs3.5 billion, if it decides to fulfill their demands. He said that the YDA did not put up demands for luxury cars or villas.

The hearing was adjourned till July 24.
