Basti Nawab residents without electricity since 3 days
MULTAN: Incensed residents of Basti Nawab Pur scaled up electricity towers to protest an all out blackout of electricity from the past three days.
According to details, the enraged residents demanded the authorities to restore electricity. Reports indicate that the area was without electricity since the last three days. The protesters also burnt tires and maintained that they were without electricity since the holy month of Ramazan commenced.
Due to the electricity outage water has become a scarce commodity, the residents maintained.
Residents were of the view that during scorching heat of the day the observance of fast and preparation of food stuff for Sehar and Iftar was jeopardize due to non availability of electricity.
To the disarray of the protestors, no MEPCO official made any appearance to console the protestors.
The protestors regretted that they had to skip fast due to non-availability of electricity amidst sultry weather conditions.
Meanwhile, after woes of the Basti Nawab Pur residents were aired, the officials were benign eough to restore electricity.
