Flood Forecasting Division warns of possible heavy flood in River Chenab
The Flood Forecasting Division has warned of a possible heavy flood in River Chenab at Head Marala and Khanki
Flood Forecasting Division‚ Lahore has warned of a possible heavy flood in River Chenab at Head Marala on Saturday.
According to the Flood Warning Center Lahore‚ River Chenab is likely to attain a high flood level ranging between one hundred seventy thousand to two hundred twenty thousand cusec till 8 p.m. on Saturday night.
High Flood ranging between one hundred forty thousand to two hundred thousand cusec is also expected at Khanki in the River Chenab between 8 pm tonight to 8 am tomorrow.
There is medium flood at River Chenab at Head Marala and below low at Khanki and Qadirabad.
Low lying areas of Gujranwala‚ Sialkot‚ Gujrat‚ Hafizabad‚ Mandibahauddin districts around the riverbed may face inundation.
The Flood Warning Center has directed all the concerned authorities to take precautionary measures to avoid any loss of human lives and property.Meanwhile‚ IRSA has closed Chashma-Jhelum link canal due to rising water in River Chenab.
According to IRSA officials‚ water flow in Chenab has exceeded one hundred and six thousand cusec while water flow from Tarbela has reduced to twenty thousand cusecs.
