Load shedding protests justified, says LHC
LAHORE: The Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC), Umar Ata Bandial Tuesday said that the people protesting against rampant electricity load shedding were justified in doing so.
During the hearing of case, the LHC chief justice said that in a city like Lahore people were without electricity for 18 to 20 hours, adding that consistent load shedding in sultry conditions were driving people to protest.
The CJ LHC added that the government was discriminating when it came to loadshedding and officials sitting in air conditioned offices had no clue about the plight of the people.
The LHC has also summoned the load shedding schedule and the steps taken to inform the public about announced load shedding during the last 6 months.
