LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday said that he would file libel and defamation suit against Khawaja Asif and Chaudhary Nisar of PML-N. 

Talking to newsmen during a press conference, the PTI chief categorically rebutted all allegations and said that he would demand Rs10 billion as compensation of the PML-N leaders.

Khan said that allegations against Shaukhat Khanum Trust were a plethora of lies, adding that nitty-gritty of financial details was available on the Trust’s website for everyone to know. 

“The allegations were levelled in Ramadan as he (Khawaja Asif) knew this is when Shaukhat Khanum Trust collects the majority of its donations. By hurling these allegations the life of cancer patients has been put in jeopardy,” Khan said.

 Khan added that he was still waiting for PML-N president Nawaz Sharif to answer the eleven questions. “Nawaz Sharif hides behind Khawaja Asif and Chaudhary Nisar.”

 Shaukhat Khanum provides free treatment to the poor Khan informed the media as he appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of these allegations and save Shaukhat Khanum from propaganda.

The PTI chairman also said that Shaukjhat Khanum was about to break ground on another cancer hospital in Lahore and would build one in Karachi if they were provided land.

Khan said that the investment made by the Trust from endowment funds were decided by the finance department and the board of governors, adding that despite the global crunch the investments fetched a 10 percent profit. 

Meanwhile, according to reports, Khawaja Asif has accepted the challenge of Imran Khan on behalf of PML-N chief.
